Healthy Schools
York High School received the Healthy Schools Award on 27th May 2009. We are the first school in the city working towards the new Enhancement Model of Healthy Schools, this means we are now established as the pilot school for the City of York.
One of our key priorities at
One of the ways we can ensure that our young people eat healthily is to increase the number of pupils that currently eat school meals. Only 32% (2009) of students currently eat school food. We aim to increase this figure to 50%. The food we serve is delicious and can be sampled at most parents evenings. At York High School we follow the strict guidance set out by the Department for Children, Schools and Families, this means all our food contains the right amount of vital nutrients needed by the body and not too much of the bad stuff!
