Sport and Active Leisure Diploma

York High School will be one of the first schools in the country to offer the Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure and along with Huntington School will be the delivery centre for this new and exciting qualification.

The Sport and Active Leisure Diploma is a combination of classroom based learning, direct experience in the sport and leisure sector and working to real briefs designed by employers.

This exciting course has been developed by a consortium of teachers across the city of York led by Mr Moran (Assistant Headteacher) and by employers. Pupils taking the Level 2 qualification will, if successful leave with the equivalent of 7 GCSE’s at Grades A*-C.

The consortium of staff who developed the resources and materials to deliver the course have already had their good practice highlighted in the form of a video that is presently on the Diploma Web Site.

Access to the course is strictly limited to 15 in any one delivery centre and pupils from any school in the city are available to apply for a place via the Year 9 Options network.
