What is PiXL Edge?

The Edge is a programme that gives students the opportunity to develop important personal attributes that are essential for employability and life. Having the EDGE will make our students stand out when applying for further education and future employment.

The programme is based around five key life attributes (LORIC):

1. Leadership

2. Organisation

3. Initiative

4. Resilience

5. Communication

Why have we introduced PiXL Edge?

At York High School we want to give students every opportunity to be prepared for work or further education through the LORIC values. Furthermore, giving students the opportunity to achieve an accreditation for the extra-curricular activities they participate in.

Students will qualify at the first two levels:

Level 1: PiXL Apprentice (Years 7-9)

Level 2: PiXL Graduate (Years 9-11)

Level 3: PiXL Master (Years 12-13)

At each level there are a variety of approved activities that students can undertake for each of the key attributes, the number of activities that need to be completed varies depending on the level. This year we are offering the PiXL Edge Apprentice course to all Year 7 students, for further information please contact Mrs L. Cooper – PiXL Edge Coordinator.
