Mental Health Awareness week 2020

In response to the impact Coronavirus has had on young people’s mental health, the theme for this year's Mental Health Awareness week is kindness.

The benefits of kindness:

  • significantly improves our physical and emotional wellbeing - whether we are giving or receiving it.
  • acts of kindness help your immune system, reduces stress, gives you energy and are good for your heart
  • The power of being kind goes even further, it has been proven to slow ageing, improve relationships and it's contagious

The Mental Health Foundation  have published a short video for Mental Health Awareness Week 2020 on YouTube explaining the theme and more about acts of kindness:

You may find it useful to work through the Helpful workbook, you can use these to track your mood, work out a personal wellbeing plan, complete with strategies, goals activities, log the things you enjoy and people you can talk to. There are mindfulness tips, ideas on relaxation and exercise, tips on taking a break from studying, positive affirmation and much more.

Attention Y11

Please check your school email accounts (including junk folders) for messages from college. If you still haven’t heard about your place; don’t panic, there is still time.

Also, a few students have asked if they can change their course/apply for something else. The answer is YES, you can apply for more than one option.

If you have any questions at all, please email Mrs Callan –

It is so important that you keep working whist we are not at school so here is a message from all of us to all of you.

We are so proud of you!
