Principal’s Weekly Post – Week 24

The Principal’s Weekly Post

Week 24: 13 MARCH 2026

A wonderful week

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been another wonderful week here at York High, and I want to start by expressing my sincere thanks for the continued engagement of our school community. Your feedback is essential to help us navigate towards a better experience for every student.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our recent Parent Survey. We had a fantastic response rate, providing us with invaluable data. I would also like to thank those of you who came into school to meet with me this week. These discussions regarding the survey’s key themes were incredibly productive. Please rest assured that your voices are being heard; this feedback will directly feed into our strategic planning as we continue to refine and improve our overall school offer.

It was a pleasure to see so many families on site for the Year 10 Parents’ Evening on Wednesday. As our Year 10s move further into their GCSE and vocational courses, the partnership between home and school becomes more vital than ever. Thank you for your continued support of your children’s academic journeys during this pivotal year.

The excitement in the corridors is palpable as we head into show week! Our talented students and dedicated staff have been working tirelessly on this year’s production: Annie.

We would love to see as many of you there as possible to support the arts at York High. Performances will take place:

  • Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (18-20 March)

It promises to be a spectacular show full of energy and talent. Please check our Facebook page or the main office for remaining ticket availability.

Warmly,

Gavin Kumar
Principal
