At York High, we have an online payment system, ParentPay: a safe, secure, efficient and convenient way to make payments to the school. Parents can use it to pay for dinner money, school trips and other activities.
ParentPay offers you the freedom to make payments whenever and wherever you like, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – safe in the knowledge that the technology used is of the highest internet security available.
Each parent is provided with a secure online account, activated using a unique set of activation codes. You will be prompted to change these and create your own secure Username and Password for future logins. If you have two or more children at the school, you can merge their accounts once logged in.
Making a payment is straightforward and ParentPay holds an electronic record of your payments to view at a later date. Once you’ve activated your account you can make online payments straight away.
Those parents wishing to pay using the PayPoint system available in local shops need to contact the school to activate an additional part of their account. There will also be a charge of £1.50 to purchase the PayPoint card which we will order and distribute to those parents. PayPoint payments are recorded by ParentPay in the same way as online payments and may be seen in your payment history under My accounts.
Please visit www.parentpay.com, click Login and activate your account using the unique code provided. If you have misplaced your unique code please contact Pupil Reception at York High School.

Our annual Open Evening gives families the chance to see our community in action and to understand our culture and ethos.
York High School's Open Evening is a wonderful opportunity to experience the characteristic warmth that makes our school setting so distinctive.
This year’s event will be held on Wednesday 7th October 2026, and will run from 6.00-8.00pm.
There is no need to book, just come along – all are welcome!
On the evening families will be given the opportunity to:

Reminder
We have our Year 11 student Steps to Success Evening on Wednesday, 23rd September, from 5:45 PM to 7:00 PM.
This evening is designed to equip both you and your child with the essential tools, strategies, and confidence needed to navigate the upcoming exam year together.
During the event, you will have the opportunity to meet directly with subject teachers to discuss tailored revision strategies, explore Post-16 and college pathways, and collect your child’s official YHS Study Pack.
Our Careers Advisor and members of the Wellbeing in Mind team will also be on hand to offer guidance on future planning and managing exam-related stress.
Complimentary buffet-style refreshments will be available in the canteen and café area throughout the evening.
