Next week, York High will be joining other secondary schools across the city to raise awareness about keeping yourself safe when online gaming.
We are working in partnership with the national charity Breck Foundation to run assemblies with all of our Year 9 students. Students will receive a presentation on Wednesday 27th September from Lorin Le Farve who runs the charity.
Lorin Le Farve's son Breck was tragically murdered by an adult who had groomed him through contact on gaming sites.
To support the charities work we will be holding a City Wide ‘No Tech for Breck’ non-uniform day for all students on Friday 29th September at a cost of £1 per student.
In addition to wearing non-uniform all students, teachers and parents are asked to use no social technology for the day including mobiles and tablets.
More information on the excellent work of the Breck Foundation can be found on their website, http://www.breckfoundation.org/
