Dear Parents and Carers,
What a fantastic week it’s been at York High School. Our wonderful Year 6 cohort joined us for our Year 6 into 7 transition day on Wednesday. It was an absolute pleasure to welcome our new students to York High School. They were, quite simply, superb! Their enthusiasm and positive attitudes truly shone through as they navigated their new surroundings and got a taste of life at York High School. We are incredibly excited to welcome them all officially in September.
As part of the transition process, it was also wonderful to see so many students, parents and carers attend this week’s ‘Meet the Tutor’ event where they had the opportunity to meet their new Year 7 form tutor. Building these relationships early is so important, and we believe it will make the start of the new academic year even smoother for everyone.
Finally, this week, we were privileged to host the singer and actress Twinnie-Lee Moore, who delivered a powerful and impactful assembly to our Year 8 students regarding anti-bullying. Her message resonated strongly with our students, reinforcing the importance of kindness, respect, and standing up against bullying in all its forms. We are committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all our students, and assemblies like this are crucial in achieving that goal.
We look forward to another productive week ahead.
Warm regards
Gavin Kumar
Principal
