Week 31 21st May 2021
It is always a day of mixed emotions when Year 11 leave. Happiness at seeing them progress, excitement at what life holds for them and sadness that we will not see them in school again.
This year group, more than any other have suffered from the effects of the pandemic but they have been brilliant in the way they have dealt with all of the setbacks.
We had a fantastic performance from ‘the band’ and some community singing led by Alfie H and some surprising Year 7 pictures!
For those of you wondering, the ‘born at this wall’ assembly made its annual appearance.
Year 11, you are brilliant, good luck to you all in the future.
As part of our post 16 transition offer, we have partnered with York College, and the Job Centre to offer you/your child the opportunity to participate in enrichment activities, post Y11.
Whilst these activities are not compulsory, we feel that they will provide you with the opportunity to prepare for college, and the work place.
The sessions are as follows:
Sign-up sheets are available outside the careers office, next to H7, or you can email Mrs Callan (email@example.com) to secure your space.
Our independent careers advisor Steven McLean will also be in school every Monday and Tuesday. Steven is more than happy to see you, to help support you with job applications, mock interviews, and CVs. Please email Mrs Keel to book an appointment. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
We wish you all the best with your post – 16 transition, and look forward to seeing you after May half term.
Great to see that 28 students have signed up for the music lessons.
If any parents of Year 11 students have any PE kit that they would like to donate to the school please bring it to reception.
Have a great weekend!
