On Friday the 20th May Miss Neilson and the Stonewall Campaign Group went to London to receive the Stonewall School Award for our Campaign against homophobic bullying.

We have been working on the campaign as part of The Stonewall Youth Volunteering Programme for eight weeks. All the students have shown true dedication to the campaign and students in school have responded well as usual to the message that LGBT bullying is wrong as is any form of bullying.

On Friday Shannon Bates year 10 and Rosie Brown, Jess Clayden, Jess Cowey, Myagh Gallagher, Chloe Horrobin and Jasmin Ross all Year 9, along with Miss Neilson and Mr Kiernan  travelled to London and we had an amazing day.

The award was presented to us by John Waite a winner of The Great British Bake Off and Sir Ian McKellen dropped in to say hello we had pictures taken as a group with Sir Ian and John. We had a drinks reception where we had none alcoholic cocktails and popcorn, muffins and sweets.

We had a memorable day and  brought the Stonewall Youth Award back to school, which we are very proud of.
